St. Francis’ book sale, a community staple for decades, will make a comeback post-Covid, but the sale will look different than in previous years, Instead of the annual mega sale we have seen in the past, the sale will now consist of three or four smaller sales year-round. The first sale is slated for this coming Dec. 3rd and 4th.
Due to the current volume of donated books the book sale committee has opted not to accept additional book donations at this time. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
For over six decades St. Francis has hosted a spring used book sale, with the entire proceeds going to support community organizations. This open, three-day event welcomes thousands of friends and neighbors to peruse close to 60,000 volumes for sale, with categories including current fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, history, art, classics, sports, health, how-to, coffee-table books, books on CD, vinyl records, and more. We also have a large children's area with books, games, and puzzles for all ages.
In our last sale, we raised more than $55,000, and proceeds were donated to organizations such as Malachi House II, Reading Connections, Wheels4Hope, Rise Against Hunger, Greensboro Urban Ministry, and Sanctuary House.
