Youth Christian Formation

Youth Christian Formation

On Sunday mornings we have a variety of offerings for our youth (6th - 12th grade). Our Middle and High School groups meet from 9:15 – 10:15 am. Youth Formation Groups do not meet on the first Sunday of each month, due to the Contemporary Worship Service at the same time.

Baptized students in at least the 8th Grade are invited to participate in Confirmation class. This class typically begins after the new year. We use the "Confirm not Conform" curriculum.

Our Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings and is a place for middle and high schoolers to meet for fellowship, spirituality, and fun.

For information or questions regarding our youth formation, please contact Felicia Cole, Director of Children's and Youth Ministry, at youth@stfrancisgreensboro.org.

Middle School Formation

6th - 8th Grade

9:15am Christian Formation Hour

Using a curriculum developed by the Virginia Theological Seminary, students have the opportunity to explore their faith and connect with Holy Scripture in a fun and exciting way. Breakfast is typically served!

This class meets in St. Mike's house each Sunday September-May, except for the first Sunday of the month.

Cornerstone

9th - 12th Grade

9:15am Christian Formation Hour

Cornerstone is based on a curriculum developed by Virginia Theological Seminary, and encourages leadership and youth participation. Guided by adult facilitators, students plan and lead interactive lessons on relevant issues in our society today, through the lens of our faith. Breakfast is typically served!

This class meets in the Cornerstone Classroom in our Day School Wing each Sunday September-May, except for the first Sunday of the month.

Confirmation

8th Grade and above

Our Confirmation class uses the "Confirm Not Conform" curriculum. Confirmation is an exciting time for youth to learn the history and purpose of our liturgy and more!  Youth have the opportunity to create their own concept of faith and understanding of Christianity, specifically through the Episcopal Church.

Because the date of Confirmation Sunday changes each year, the beginning date of the class does as well. Stay tuned for more information!
