St. Francis Episcopal Church
Senior Warden Message

Welcome to St. Francis Episcopal Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. We are delighted to know of your interest in our parish. Our values are those of our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi: simplicity, compassion and hope. We are blessed to have excellent clergy and staff. Our rector is Father Michael Moulden and the Assistant Rector is Father Robert Black. Our services reflect the Episcopal tradition and are uncomplicated, uplifting, and inspiring. Our choirs and instrumentalists enhance our worship together. The children's chapel service provides a worship experience appropriate for their ages and then concludes to join their families in the Eucharist. On the first Sunday of the month during the school year, we gather in the Parish Hall for the Eucharist that features our Heaven Help Us band in a contemporary service. Worship at St. Francis is an active and joyful experience!

With over 800 individual members, St. Francis has over 65 ministries and commissions engaged in a myriad of activities from teaching Sunday School to planting and harvesting our community garden, from ministering to the sick to hosting a big community event, the Book Sale, to fund outreach gifts to those in need. Our parishioners are both learners and teachers participating in a variety of opportunities including Sunday school, coffee talk for high schoolers, confirmation and inquirers classes, adult forums on contemporary issues, bible studies, and small groups of men and women who gather to work, learn, socialize, eat, and grow to know each other. The youth groups are a strong and growing part within the church and extending far beyond. In addition, the St. Francis Day School is for preschoolers, whose joyful voices fill our hallways with delight.

Our members are thinkers, questioners, dedicated, helpful, kind, and come from diverse backgrounds. We are a lively community of "can doers", living simple Christian lives. We are not only engaged in parish activities; we gladly share simplicity, compassion and hope with those in need. We feed the hungry, donate clothing, guide refugees, build for the homeless, comfort the afflicted and celebrate with determination to do and be more as God's disciples.

The church is located on a large campus with beautiful trees and gardens. Our sanctuary is simple, beautiful and peaceful. Our campus, clergy, faithful parishioners, and seeker-visitors create a community that is fertile for spiritual growth. I invite you to explore our website and then come to explore our church. I would welcome an opportunity to know you and your family. We are all God's children!
