Fundraising
Though the youths (and their families) and the parish financially support the mission trip and other special youth events, we work throughout the year to generate additional funding. We do this as a way to increase our available funding and to have a greater sense of ownership of the projects we undertake.
2011 Attraction books (those great coupon books that will save you loads of money) are on sale now. The cost is $25 and can be purchased from any of the youth of the parish. Each book a youth sells will directly decrease the cost of the mission trip for them.
Barberito’s is a favorite restaurant in the area and they are generous to assist us with fundraising. When you dine at Barberito’s on the 1st Wednesday of the month, a significant percentage of your check will be donated to our youth program, just mention the St. Francis EYC when you order. Barberito’s is located in the North Elm Village Shopping Center.
If you have any cell phones that you no longer need, please donate them to the church. We can send these in to a company that recycles them and receive funds that go towards EYC funding.
We also host special fundraising events such as a mission trip spaghetti lunch, a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and a bake sale at the annual Blessing of the Animals service.
