In Matthew 19:14, Jesus says "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." Our education programs for children are designed to provide them with the foundations of the faith tradition and spiritual life.
Ages – Infant to 5th Grade
Nursery
Infants to 3 years
9:00am – 12:00pm
Our goal is for parents of babies and toddlers to worship without worry. We also want your child’s first impression of church to be a happy one. Our child care workers are professional educators. They have had background checks and are Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certified.
St. Francis offers nursery service throughout the morning each Sunday beginning at 9:00am, including the summer months. It is located in the nursery room beside the acolyte room, and has an attached child-sized restroom and is adjacent to the toddler playground.
Parents are given a vibrating pager in case they are needed. Parents are asked to notify the workers if their children have any allergies or special needs.
Pre-School / Elementary Sunday School
Preschoolers through rising 5th Graders
9:15am - 10:15am
This is a time for the children to gather together and hear part of God’s story. The children will then break into age appropriate groups to then explore the lesson for the day. We are excited about our curriculum which we will be using called "Weaving God’s Promises." This Episcopal curriculum focuses on faith formation in which we learn how God’s promises of salvation are inextricably woven into our lives. The goal of "Weaving God’s Promises" is to teach children the way of Christ, not only in the church but also in the world, and to give them a solid grounding for future youth formation programs, which in turn will prepare them for Christian adulthood.

Children’s Chapel
On all non-Parish Hall Eucharist Sundays we have a Children's Chapel for children ages 4-8. This child-friendly worship experience takes place during the 10:30 service. The children leave the service at the Collect of the Day and will return at the Peace so that we all will be able to participate in Holy Communion as a parish family. The service mirrors the service so that children will learn the pattern of liturgy, but will able to be more engaged.
